Members of our club have access to a wide range of educational materials. The hands-on Communication and Leadership manuals provide the "how-to" and the practical experience so critical to meet your goals. Self-paced programs allow you to progress as rapidly or gradually as your needs dictate.
“I have had eight careers and assumed multiple positions within a variety of size organizations. My ability to compete for jobs in industries where I have had no prior experience, is a direct result of the communication and leadership skills that I have honed in Toastmasters.” –JOHN LOCKEJerry Seinfeld got a big laugh when he joked about a survey that found the fear of public speaking ranks higher in most people's minds than the fear of death. "In other words," he deadpanned, "at a funeral, the average person would rather be in the casket than giving the eulogy." It may seem laughable but the truth is, the fear of public speaking can be debilitating personally and professionally.
In Toastmasters you can overcome the fear of public speaking. In a supportive and nurturing environment you'll learn to give presentations, easily lead teams and conduct meetings. You'll comfortably give and receive constructive evaluations. As your improved communication skills become obvious within the workplace, increased visibility, recognition, and promotion will follow. Your improved skills will win you the respect and admiration of colleagues and employees and make them wonder what you did to change.
Leadership can't be learned in a day. It takes practice. Brian Tracy said, "I believe through learning and application you can solve any problem, overcome any obstacle and achieve any goal." In the Toastmasters Leadership programs you'll work through educational modules specifically designed to develop skills in–conducting meetings, listening, evaluating and creative thinking.
You can use the leadership educational modules in several ways— at work to improve employee communication, meetings and successful project development; in the community to encourage better relationships, and, in your Toastmasters club to enhance member skills.
